When my kids struggled on a particular multiple or two, I spent time on those particular multiples until they got it - or until they were fairly fluent with them. If I moved on too soon, they would forget which was which. By me spending extra time on the multiples that they struggled with, they were able to solidify them and not get too frustrated.

Of course, each family is different. You may want to stay on a multiple for a few days (or until they got bored with them) and then move on. One of the games I played with my kids (over and over) was P10 - Multiplication Memory. My kids really liked the game and it helped them work on one multiple at a time.
