Fathers War Service Record

Good afternoon, I am trying to find information of where my father fought during WWII. All I know is that I think he served with The Queens Own (Royal West Kent) Regiment. His Service Number is 6354124.
I am hoping that someone can help or at least point me in the right direction to enable me to discover these records.
I would very much like to visit some of the Battlefields where he fought (If possible) and to obtain some photos to show my mother, who is now 90 years old.
My father rarely spoke about his experiences during WWII other than to describe the good times he had with his 'mates'!
I hope someone may be able to help me with is request.
Kind regards
Philip Arthur Penver

Re: Fathers War Service Record

Philip,
Military Records of those who served in WW2 and later are not in the public domain. However, next of kin and close relatives can obtain these by contacting Army Personnel Centre, Mailpoint 400, Kentingern House, 65 Brown Street, Glasgow G2 8EX.
