I am searching the regimental number that unlocks the military history for LESLIE HAYDE, who was a member of the Battalion's Cross Country Running teams in the late 1930's.
I do not know his date of birth.
A photo of the Cross Country team has caption of Leslie Hayde and newspaper reports and The Dragon mention Private L. Hayde.
The Ancestry.com genealogical website has military record of soldiers serving in The Buffs in Palestine and Pte L. Hayde's medal was 'returned and scrapped'. The Hayde family lived in Cheriton, Folkestone, Kent.
Anyone old enough are now deceased and no family records are available to find Leslie.
I would like to have help in obtaining his regimental number to find the relative of my cousin David as we both have hit the wall in our considerable searches.
