Hi
Very odd plea for help but here goes. I am writing an article and need to know what the bayonet / side arms that would have been carried/worn by a soldier of the 3rd Regiment of Foot (or 103rd Regiment) Buffs East Kent Regiment in 1863. Not in battle, but worn when wearing uniform generally out and about. Particularly, what sort of blade would there be, would it be sharp enough for a soldier to slit his own throat?
Sorry to ask such a specific and weird question but if anyone could help or knows who I could ask, I would be very grateful.
