Re: Route Recommendation

John- tried to email you but it came back as undeliverable? Anyway just ride downtown to MOAB bike shop on N. Maple St. and go to the little market next to it. Good chicken and you can get a cold 6 or 12 pack (coke) to go with it. Take some to Mark and his crew at the shop. Hope you will join us for a ride.

Cheers- Cary

Re: Re: Route Recommendation

Cary,

Sorry about my email. Guess it go marked as spam. Thanks for your suggestion about the little market next to the bike shop. I have had bad luck eating at small markets on my rides. Those places do not change the oil in the fryers often enough. That stuff hurts my stomach and gives me bad feelings.

Junkman,
Is Dodges a small market as well? I really do not want KFC. They are cruel to the chickens according to PETA. Surely Murfreesboro being such a large city has a great bike friendly place to get a bucket of chicken and maybe a biscuit or two.

Anyone else got suggestions?

JT..

Dodge Store

Dodges has HIGH turnover & the best tenders in town. Cheap beer also. AND the bridge is close. Riding in the area (Broad & Downtown) sucks. Not to worry...we have some of the best riding in the country around here.

Re: Dodge Store

Junkman,

What is the deal with the bridge? Is that a nice shady place to enjoy my chicken? I do not drink beer at all. I only drink scotch occasionally. I look forward to enjoying the beautiful riding in my new home.

Re: Re: Re: Route Recommendation

Ride to Woodbury and you can pick out your chicken and kill it yourself at Joe's Place.

Re: Route Recommendation

Best chicken in town is at the Dodge store on Broad. Visit with the rednecks, grab a beer to drink with the bums under the bridge.

Re: Re: Route Recommendation

For some reason I was hungry for fried chicken tonight....thanks guys.

Re: Re: Re: Route Recommendation

Just make sure you route your ride by a Publix. They have delicious fried chicken!!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Route Recommendation

Feel sorry for you-the only Popeyes is off 24 at Lavergne. There's a churchs' on corner of Old Fort pARKWAY and Thompson Lane-not riding territory. Coming from a cajun you're out of luck on food. You'll be come a vegetarian!!

Re: Route Recommendation

After too many years of being north of the Mason-Dixon line, its great to be back in the South. Where else can you get a group of people talking about where to eat a bucket of fried chicken on a bike ride? That's awesome.
