Top Ranked Player Award
At the end of the 2017- 2018 season, the players at the top of the rankings in Men`s Open Singles and Women's Open Singles will be presented with an award. Both awards will be sponsored by Mayo Crystal
The tournament calendar for the 2017-18 season has been updated. THe next tournament is the 35th Irish Open & 32nd Kilkenny Op2ne on 21st & 22nd Oct. THe Womens Open will be held in Galway on 18th &19th November followed by the Ballinrobe Open on 25th & 26th Nov. Full Calendar
35th Irish Open & 32nd Kilkenny Open The 35th Irish Open & the 32 Kilkenny Open will be held in Kilkenny & Callan on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd October 2017. You can enter online at http://www.racquetball.ie/kilkenny-open.html STRICTLY 2 DIVISIONS ONLY Closing date for entries is Sunday 15th October. Mens & Womens divisions in singles & doubles, Junior division under 16 singles for boys & girls. New players especially welcome in the Novice Division which will have a Plate division for 1st round losers. There will be a €100 prize for for both and the Mens Singles winner and the Womens Singles winner, €50 each will go to the runners-up.

Ireland win All Divisions at 19th European Championships The Irish racquetball team won all divisions at the European Racquetball Championships held in The Hague, already having won both the Men's Team and Women's Team competition, Irish players won all the Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles and Women's Doubles. Congratulations to Johnny O`Keeney(Fermoy) European Men's Singles Champion, Donna Ryder(Newport) Women's Singles European Champion, Padraic Ryder(Newport) & Darragh O`Donoghue (Araglen) Men's Doubles European Champions and Katie Kenny(Castlebar) & Donna Ruder(Newport) Women's Doubles European Champions. Junior Team all ready for World Junior Championships in Minneapolis, USA The 12 member Irish Junior Team has been training hard for the forthcoming IRF World Junior Championships in Minneapolis, USA from 5th - 11th November. The team is being put through their paces by coaches Mick Cunningham and Seamus Russell. As well as training much fundraising has been carried out with raffles, table quizzes and coffee mornings. A big thanks to all the parents for their support. The team departs for the USA on 2nd Novembers. We wish our junior athletes every success.
Coaching News Racquetball Ireland will support clubs who want to run a coaching clinics for adults and juniors at their clubs. Funds will be made available to clubs on application to the RAI. All courses must be undertaken by a qualified coach i.e a person who has done the RAI Foundation course. Please apply by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org . If your club does not have a qualified coach then the RAI will supply a coach for the session.
World Racquetball US Open The United Health Care US Open Racquetball Championships is one of the major premier racquetball events. THe Championships will be October 4-8 in Minneapolis and features the best professional and amatuer racquetball athletes in the world. Follow our linkon Facebook for live streaming. World Junior Championships The IRF Racquetball Junior World Championships are coming back to the United States for the first time since 2012, and will be held from November 5-11. The IRF awarded the 29th edition of these Championships to Life Time Fitness in Minneapolis. The Target Center will serve as the home venue, which is also used by the US Open. Venue Minneapolis, USA World Championships 2018 The IRF World Championships 2018 will be held in China. The IRF World Championships have been held every two years since 1981 and Ireland have competed in all expect two.
