Great site. The site shows my great grandfather Rev. Joshua Shoemaker, Pastor of Grace Community Lutheran Church in Curllsville abt. 1848-. I would love to have a picture of him -- and also. the location of his residence. Can you help me? Thank you.

Great information. I have an old checkbook of W.T. Craig and Sons, with checks dated 1908 through 1909. They are from the old grain mill in Limestone, PA. I came upon them on the 1960's before the grain mill was torn down. I also have promisory notes dated 1894 through 1896.

My daughter picked up a very old (1885-1887) General store ledger kept by store owner, Jacob Hodil - Sligo, PA. The entries are fascinating so just thought I would scan this website to see if there were any names entered in the ledger here.

My great great great grandfather was Jacob Mast. I was interested to find a reference to the Mast school on or near the farm Jacob owned north of Sligo/Curllsville btwn 1839-1865. I visited the Clarion and Armstrong Counties area in April doing family history research on my Mast line.
Nice site.

I am a son of Wilbert(Wilbur) G. Barnhart born 17 AUG 1905 from Sligo. His parents were Harvey Jonathan Barnhart and Martha Jane Aites(Aits, Artz). His grandparents were Abraham Barnhart and Rachael Foringer. He married a woman named Grace born 1 JAN 1904.
Any info on Grace's family/last name would help. Also I can't find any info on Harvey after the 1920 census. Where we was, when he died or where he is buried. My father died in 1983 and I can't remember any of the detail from our conversations. I know Martha and the 4 grown children all moved to Ohio by the 1930 census.

Great website. Doing research on the Langham's of Indiana, Clearfield Couties especially those Langham's who were engaged in railroading. Found in one obituary concerning my grandfather, Norman Barto Langham - a nephew of Judge Jonathan N. Langham - wherein he was mortally wounded by having been run over by a New York Central rig as he was in the performance of his duties working for them as a shifter, tossed beneath the two runaway flatcars and every bone in his body broken...died immediately, naturally. The gory story of the man in this story brought back my memories of that story.... it is of no comfort that others in the industry of railroading suffered even greater than he did, but is is interesting to discover that "in those days" the full details were never overlooked. This is an essential part of dying, and it is in the knowing of how one dies, bravely or otherwise, that one can be aligned with them in their final moments. Thank you for a most interesting read.

Great web site. While doing background research on Hartzells, Myers, Stouffer, Blair, Schick, Craig, Schreckengost, Gordon I was very fortunate to find such great information. No luck in finding Hammler Coal mine in Huey PA. That is where my grandfather Stouffer lost his eye in a mining accident. The search continues Carol
