My brother, Mark, and I are great-grandsons of Jim Pemberton. Mart Pemberton was our grandfather and his son, Martin, is our father. I was named after our great-grandfather.

My brother and I made a trip recently to do some genealogical research and visit family. We found this site and decided to visit the old Bon Jellico site. If the house we found is the one that the Pembertons lived in, then its roof and siding has been redone by later residents. Nevertheless, it was cool to see the house and get some photos.

It was also cool to read some of the antics of our great-uncle Red in Bon Jellico. You wouldn't have guessed he had such a scandalous past knowing him in his later years.

Our ma-maw's (Reba Lovitt) family was also in Bon Jellico and it was neat to see information on that side as well. Some of the Homecomers may know a little about the history of Mart and Reba, but for those who don't Mart was a Navy man and they were stationed in Pearl Harbor during the attack that dragged the US into WWII. I have her account that she typed up in 1975 if any are interested.

I am looking for information about my ancestor, Rich Kirklin. I am the great granddaughter of his brother, Marion Young Kirklin. Marion's daughter was Jennie Irene and Jennie's son is Ezra Young Wilson who is my father. Dad has memories of his uncle Rich when Rich came to Monterey Tennessee in Putnam county to help Marion build a house. I would love to surprise my Dad with stories of Uncle Rich and also to find out the names of Rich and Marion's Kirklin family tree. Thank you.
