Right Start and Standardized Testing

We love Right Start Math and I thought Math was one of my son's best subjects in school. However, on a standardized test for 3rd grade he just placed average in math and spelling and well above average on every other subject. Should I be concerned about his math abilities?

Re: Right Start and Standardized Testing

Hi, Kari.

You know, one of my kids did that once. When I investigated further, I discovered that he did not read through all the questions very well and too quickly answered some questions. Most of the time, however, my kids score above average on the tests. They certainly know more than what is covered on the test.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the test scores - especially if he is scoring at least average. Actually, that is still good!

Have a great day!
Rachel
