My 8 year old third grader is about to finish Level E. While he understands the concepts of Level E (and always scores well on the review lessons), he does require assistance on the geometry lessons (but not the geometry review lessons). By "assistance" I mean he sometimes needs help making sure his tools are precisely lined up, or he needs help making sure the tools are held securely so they won't slip when he's drawing. These issues seem maturity-related (he's a young 8 year old).

My question is, given his age and the fact that he is understanding the concepts, is he ready to continue on to Geometry (with my continued help)? If not, any suggestions as to what we should do next?
