Starting level C

My son will be 9 in a few weeks. We just finished level B. It was very easy for him and we were able to breeze through 2-3 lessons a day. Level C will be a little more of a challenge, but it will still be fairly easy. I am wondering if there are any lessons we can skip and still not miss out on anything. Or should I just continue to go through C at an excelerated rate.

Re: Starting level C

Karen,

Thank you for your message. By the sounds of it, you are moving at lightning fast speed!

I would advise to not skip over any lessons in Level C as it does introduce many new concepts. Feel free to move very briskly throughout the lessons. There will be days, especially in the beginning where you can do your 2-3 lessons a day but when a new concept is introduced you will want to spend more time explaining the idea.

The jump from B to C is pretty large as we introduce multiplication, which can be confusing to children. If you find yourself extra time during your math lessons take a break and play a game from the Math Card Games book. This way he isn't only playing the games introduced in lessons, but also able to pick some new ones out of the book.

Best wishes in the upcoming school year, I have no doubt your lightening fast speed with continue with slower days on the new concepts. You and your son will do great! Keep us posted on your progress!

Make it a great day! :)

Cassie

Thanks for the advice. He is already familiar with the basics of multiplication so I think we will be able to move through level C rather quickly too.
