3rd Grade

Last year I started my two children, then k and 2nd grade with level b. We still have about 30 lessons left in the level b book.

I backed my 2nd grader up in her skills so that she could learn the rightstart method. But now I need to accelerate her forward. She will need to take the 3rd grade standardized test this year and is not at the math level she needs to be yet. Should I go ahead and get the b to c kit and transition lessons or do I even need to get her into level d. My concern is still walking her into the concepts so that she thoroughly understands them, even as I need to accelerate her forward.

Re: 3rd Grade

Aimee,

Thank you for your message. I believe Dr. Cotter did email you privately on this issue, so I will reiterate her thoughts and comments! :)

There will be no need for the transition lessons since your child has done level B.
They are only used for children starting Levels C, D, and E. I would advise to finish level B, and work through C. You can work as quickly as you need, as long as she is understanding the lessons.

According to Dr. Cotter, RightStart is ahead of most state tests as far as the introduction of concepts. It sounds like you and your daughter are right on target!

Between this message and Dr. Cotter's email, I hope this answers your questions! Please let us know if there are further questions we can assist with!

Make it a great day!

Cassie :)
