Have a great day and remember to play a math card game!

Pre-school

I have a bright 4 year old and was thinking about starting Level A with him... is it too early to start? Does anyone have experience with using Level A with a preschooler?

Re: Pre-school

I started using Level A with my 4 year old. We took it very slow -- and spent a lot of time on each lesson. He got familiar with the abacus and enjoyed math time, but is definitely "getting it" more as a 5 year old.

You might consider getting the math card games book and cards (instead or in addition) which my 3 year old loves as much as my 5 year old. She comes running down the hall to play my games with me and my son during math time (and she has a wonderful sense for numbers).

Re: Pre-school

Hello Jill,

I agree with Jane. It is doable, but take your time. Focus on the games and activities, don't get caught up in the "structured" math.

Done correctly, your child should not even notice you are doing "math", they will think you are just playing with them, and giving them the attention they love to have.

Slow and steady, inch by inch. You will see enjoyment, and understanding.
