Hello Alena,

The only Difference is the Standard Starter Kit comes with the Standard Abacus. It is the red one with plastic frame and plastic beads.

The Classic Starter Kit comes with the Classic Abacus. It is the tan one with wooden frame and wooden beads, made in the USA.

Both are good abaci it just depends if you like the more natural feel of wood verses the plastic.

The wooden beads do tend to stick as they are wood and sometimes swell making it harder to slide, but I have two wood ones and only one bead out of 200 ever sticks. So it becomes a personal choice as to which one you wish to purchase.
