Yes, you do get the same number grouping and other concepts. I would recommend that you read through the introduction of the game book and then the numeration section of the game book. Here you will be more strongly introduced to the RS way of thinking about numbers. Of course teaching the RS curriculum is more complete, however, playing the games certainly will help a child and is easier at complimenting another curriculum.

And, yes, purchasing the complete math card game kit is what I recommend.
