My father is from Hinton, Arnold F. Lilly, son of Tanner David Lilly and Virginia Rae Bowling. My father has since past away and I am trying to gather information on my family history for my sons.
The common answer is that our family came from France. In 1066 went to England and eventually come to what was then Virginia. I’ve left out a lot of details but that is the basics. My dad use to have a book called “The History of Summers County” With his passing my brother has it. I had a lot of info. Hope this helps.
