I found a marriage announcement for Eliza Winfield, daughter of Edward Winfield, esq. of Anson County/Montgomery County (area later became Stanly County) North Carolina to William Lilly of Fayette District by the Rev. Armstead Lilly. In 1811 or 1812. Edward Winfield was the son of Peter Winfield and his wife Charlotte Freeman Winfield who migrated to the area from Southside Virginia in the 1780's. Trying to determine which William Lilly this was. Most likely Armstead and William were close relatives, brothers or uncle/nephew. Eliza Winfield Lilly, I believe, died young and in childbirth, so William Lilly likely remarried. There are records of marriages later being performed by a Rev. William Lilly. Need help to untangle this mystery. Has to be from the Edmund Lilly family of Anson County, NC
