I would like to paint a picture of the school and church that were located near the Lilly Cemetery in the Village of Lilly. I have a copy of William Sanders' book "Lilly on the Bluestone", which gives a pretty good description of both and their locations. Is there a photograph or drawing of either? I would like to know things, such as, did the school have a porch? Did either building have a bell tower? Did the church have a steeple? How many front doors? How many windows in the school?
I live in Pax, Fayette County, and have painted several pictures of churches and old school houses in my immediate area. My mother was a Lilly, and I'd love to add the Lilly church and school to my collection. Some of them can be seen on www.paxflood.com.
