My great grandmother and her 1st husband, William W. Lilly, were on the 1860 Washington Co Va census. William was 19 and Rosanna was 16. She was born in Lee Co VA. William joined the Civil war and was killed in 1864. Rosanna and her two children, Sarah and Daniel Smith Lilly, moved back to Lee Co Va. It is said that she then married William's brother John. They had Laura, Martha, Lenore and John Henry. I think William and John were on the 1850 Stokes Co NC census in the household of George and Polly Lilly Bowman. I can't find anyone who can put these Lilly's with their family. I thought they might be related to the Washington Co Va Lilly's but I haven't been successful. Any help or leads would sure be appreciated.
