I am working on my family history. My GGGGrandfather of the name Michaelis /polish Michal/ Abramowicz was from Miaskowo near Nietrzanowo, county Sroda, region Poznan/Poland. His last name appear in Church Books as Abramowicz but when I started to go back in time the name was spelled Abrahamowicz.I guess it got changed in time to make it look "more Polish" rather then Jewish. This is my personal opinion based on my research in Catholic Church Books from about 200 years ago. I hope this will help some of you.
