ive had my four boys on eye q supplements since august 04 my 13 yr old has severe adhd, ocd, odd and tourettes and the school were finding him hard work after 12 wks of him having the eye q supplement the school nurse rang me and asked what i was doing and that whatever it was not to stop as my son was like a different child it also helped my 9 yr old with his concentration and calmed his behaviour, it has helped my 6 yr old who has suspected as and suspected dyslexia it has improved his concentration and he has had more eye contact with people since taking it , it also helped my 4yr old who has chest probs and speech probs and low muscle tone in the way that he couldnt speak b4 taking this and was learning makaton sign language after 12 wks of taking the eye q he started speaking and now always has something to say and his concentration is fantastic i swear by this eye q and yet b4 starting it i was very skeptical thought i would share this info with you all as if this info can help others who havent heard of this supplement or people that have but arent sure whether to try it my four boys are proof that it really does help you,you dont notice the difference for the first 12 wks of taking eye q hope ive helped some other families let me know howyou get on if you give it a go sorry for waffling on

Re: eye q supplement for adhd and as

I'm in total agreement with yourself. My five year old, who has a diagnosis of Asperger's, has been taking a similar supplement (Boots Smart Omega 3s) for over a year and a half and we too noticed a huge improvement in all areas after only a few weeks. I visited my GP to request EyeQ and was informed that our district has not received any clinical evidence that supplementing these kids is of any great benefit, however many other regions do. Anyway, we could not receive it on perscription therefore after I done my own research, I discovered that the Boots brand supplied practically the same level of EPA(the missing link) plus it has the added advantage of not being oily at all in consitency and much cheaper also. (Boots have had it on a 3 for 2 for as long as we have bought it) As opposed to being approx £10 like EyeQ these bottles are £6 each. They are like a creamy Calpol consistency and mix really well with yoghurt, milkshake etc, my son doesn't mind taking them and they really do work. Everybody should give this a try, what have you got to lose, a few pounds, honestly I would bet my life that if you stick with it, it will work, I really do have this much faith in it. Our life has changed dramatically in the last year and I really do put a lot of it down to these supplements.

i too have total faith in these supplements i cannot get them on perscription either so i have had to buy them since august last year but then a month ago i sent a email to equazen the makers of eye q saying how good there product was and to thank them they in turn contacted me and asked for some info on my boys after telling them some they have now put my four boys on a case study and so are now sending four bottles of eye q through the post every mth at ther expense hopefully enough of these trails will get the eye q on to perscription we wait and see thanks for your feedback
i put my childrens changes also down to the help of the supplements

We'll live in hope eh? I'm forever bumping my gums about how fabulous these supplements are, this and of course a better understanding of Matthew's Aspergers has made all the difference to our lives. I am not saying that everything is now hunky-dorey but these certainly have made a difference and on the days where we have forgotten to give them, it really is evident in Matthew's behaviour. American forums similar to this one are full of parents supporting these supplements and diet intervention. The saying "you are what you eat" certainly rings true in this household.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: eye q supplement for adhd and as

We're from up in Bonnie Scotland - Dundee. Unfortunately, we, like so many others, had to push for a diagnosis off our own backs, it was a long hard struggle resulting in me being permanently stuck to the computer for quite a while gathering as much info as possible on ASD etc therefore I have found myself to be quite gend' up on the subject matter. For anyone who is interested, the american chat rooms do provide a whole host of information that we found to be really helpful when our wee one was first diagnosed with regard to alternative therapies etc. It is easy to clutch at straws and try anything that will help but you have to realise that a child with ASD will be an adult with ASD however there are certain things that can be done to alleviate certain situations/symtoms etc. EyeQ and Smart Omega etc is only one of them.
P.s - Sorry for prattling, I've just had my morning coffee in preparation for studying for my Open Univeristy exams in a couple of weeks. Fairly obvious that I am a dab hand at writing essays by the length of some of my posts, I know.
