I am trying to conduct some research on the Buffs during the Second World War, at this stage in my research I have come to thinking about helmet insignia during the Second World War.
I know that other regiments used such insignia early on during the war, I also have come across evidence of the Buffs using scarlet coloured shapes to identify different companies on their helmets. However, I was wondering if the Buffs ever wore regimental flashes on their tin lids during the war? If so would anyone be able to describe them so that I can recreate one and document it. Alternatively any photographs, drawings or documents with reference to the Buffs using regimental helmet flashes.
