Bernard Vanasse of Webster Massachusetts.
Bernard Vanasse, son of Joseph Henry Vanasse, died last night (July 3, 2011) at the age of 84. Bernie was my mother's (Lorraine Gion Cregg) cousin and a bit of a family recluse. He lived in Webster Massachusetts and suffered from a short but unknown illness and passed away at a local hospital last night. Bernie was a very nice man and very kind. He worked as a Maitre D at many places in Las Vegas back in it's heyday and often told stories of the performers he was friends with. The name Frank Sinatra came up often. His Aunt, Eva Vanasse, born 1909, is still with us though! She will turn 102 this November!
