Hi all! New to this forum, doing a bit of family research to eventually pass along to my 1 year old daughter... I've been able to trace my family back as far as my great grandfather thus far, His name was Emede, born circa 1878 in Canada. He and his wife Alice had three children, Irene, Iwan, and Albert, my grandfather. Albert had two children, Carol and Jack, my father. Albert changed the spelling of the name to Van Ness, and his sisters seem to have followed suit.

Sorry about the double post, but just found out that my Great Grandfather's first name was actually Amide, not Emede.
