The ride this Saturday is from our house (and Bill Funderburk's) in Cannon county & we'd like an approximate head count so we know how much barbeque to buy. As soon as you can, please post here, or call us at 893-0495 if you're coming.
The rides leave at 9:00 (not 8!). The main route will be 50+ mi with a couple of hills. There will be a shorter (30+-) gentler ride with less hills. For those who haven't been riding, there can also be a 15-20 mi route (just ask).
Plan on eating between 12:00 and 1:00. We'll have barbeque, coleslaw, plates & soft drinks. Bring a side dish and something to sit on. (Most would call it a chair but this is Cannon County so allowances have to be made.)
Directions from Downtown Murfreesboro
Take Hwy 70S toward Woodbury.
Turn R onto Hwy 64 (flashing yellow caution light)
Take next Left (Burt-Burgen Rd)
Go approx 2.6 mi to 1st thru gravel road on Right (Claude Gaither Rd - it was marked the last time I was there)
Go 3/4 mi on Claude Gaither to 1591
From Murfreesboro Interstate 24:
Go East to Buchanan Exit
Cross interstate to Hwy 41(Manchester Pike) turn Right
To Big Springs Rd. Turn Left
To Hwy 99 (Only stop sign - Bradyville Pike) turn Right
To Hwy 64 (Road ends) Turn Left.
On Hwy 64, go exactly 1.5 mi to 1st road on Right (Claude Gaither Rd)
Go 1.5 mi to 1591
Bring your bike, a dish and a chair and plan on having a great time.
