Biking in Mt. Juliet???

Can you tell me if there is quality road biking in the Mt. Juliet area? We are looking to move to the area, but it's contingent upon the ability to ride from our house for a good 30-50 mile ride without having to ride on major roads with a lot of traffic. Thanks for your time.

Re: Biking in Mt. Juliet???

"From your house" will depend on where your house is located in Mt Juliet & what you're comparing it to. My son slive there & I've noticed some good roads. I much prefer Murfreesboro area & if cycling is your only criteria, move here. Check with the sop (Jolly Cyclist) . There's also a club in Mt Juliet or Hermitage.

There is a lot of good riding in the Mount Juliet area. It all depends on how much traffic you are willing to endure but you can find plenty of traffic free roads to ride on.

Hope this helps!

I rode with the Mt.Juliet women's group last year. The ride left from a park over by I-40. Most of the rides were rather hilly but not much traffic. Also the main road from "downtown" out to I-40 has a new bike lane. Depending on which part of Mt. Juliet, you can always head toward Gladeville or Lebanon/Watertown. My sister lives in Mt. Juliet and I can get a great 60 mile round-trip from Smyrna via the Glade. Check the Veloteer website for some of their favorite routes. http://www.veloteers.org/
