I'm looking into getting a gravel bike for riding the Great Allegheny Passage this fall and am looking for opinions from folks who have some experience with them on what constitutes a good bike for the purpose, quality brands of bike, etc.
Renting one for the week runs ~$500 and I'm seeing gravel bikes for sale ranging from $300(bikes direct) to $1500 (REI) so it seems like I could find a decent used one and be better off.
