Motorsports Enclave application delayed

The developer of the proposed Nashville Motorsports Enclave has withdrawn his initial zoning request from the October planning meeting, but is expected to re-file. See story at https://www.dnj.com/story/news/2020/10/07/nashville-motorsports-enclave-road-course-withdraws-rutherford-county-zoning-request/5909112002/.

This does not mean the project is dead, only delayed by a month or two. I post here, as I have in the past, because this proposed development would have a serious negative impact on a prime bicycle route. The project is bounded on the west by New Castle Road, on the north by Spanntown Road, and on the south by TN-96 (aka Franklin Road). Spanntown Rd is a very popular bicycle route and would effectively be lost to that purpose by the traffic that this project would draw. If the project meets the developer's stated expectations, the traffic on Spanntown would far exceed that generated by the TN Renaissance Festival, and would not be confined to 4 weekends in June. For those not familiar with the RenFest traffic, it's bumper-to-bumper. On RenFest weekends, residents of Spanntown Rd can barely get out of their own driveways.

Please, if you value good cycling roads in rural Rutherford County, join the fight against this project.
