Wondering how many others have had an “episode “ coming down the front side of Lynch. Thursday night we made Lynch an option spur, up and back. I enjoyed the challenge of climbing and the crest was a welcome sight. Then it was time to go back down and rejoin the others who chose to wait for another day to see the top. Well in my exuberance for the thrill I got going too fast. That last slight bend to the left came quicker than anticipated. I tried to hit the brakes but too little too late. Hit some gravel on the edge of the road while trying to brake and turn and ended up going off the edge in my worst accident yet. 3 areas of severe road rash on my left side, just feeling well enough to talk about it today. I guess they say the adrenaline kicked in as I finished the ride with the group but then headed straight to the urgent care when we got back to Millers. Nothing broken or punctured so no stitches required, just open wounds. Staying on the couch this weekend! Perhaps my experience will help others to ride more responsibly and safe.
Sorry to hear this Bud. I feel your pain. Glad you don't have any broken bones, but I'm very familiar with road rash. It's horrible. Do like Sarah says and try the stuff she said. It works great. You will have less scabbing (and pain) with that product. She put me on it a few years back and it made a difference.
Thank you for all your kind comments and suggestions. I am healing quickly by keeping the wounds moist and allowing the healing to come from within.
I am going to take a break from the club rides for a while so if someone will take up the lead of the Millers CZ rides for September and October I would appreciate it.
