The eclipse is Monday 8/21 with the total eclipse being at ~1:29. The total eclipse will last a little longer in Watertown than in Murfreesboro.

LBC to Watertown is ~25 mi. I'm thinking of leaving LBC at 11:30, watching the eclipse on the square then riding back. The long ride could go over Patton Hollow. A shorter ride could do something else.


Perhaps we could do this again in say another 7 years.

It's ~25 mi to Watertown whichever roads we take. That makes the shortest round trip slightly more than 50 mi.

I'll make a 30 mi route for those that want something shorter. They'd have to have someone drive a car and switch places and drive 1 way then ride the other.

Let me know if that option is wanted.

I'm going to ride early to avoid the heat and then watch the eclipse from the speedway. Let me know if you're interested.

Leaving at 11:00 allows riding as slow as 12.5 mph and still arrives almost 30 minutes before the peak. The plan is to watch then ride back. The posted return trip may/can be easily altered.
