Saturday, Sept 19, 10:00 a.m.Annual Woodbury to Alexandria Ride aka the GooGoo Raid

Mike Corley will be leading a ride from Woodbury to Alexandria in search of GooGoo Clusters.

There is a free BBQ lunch with fixings included as part of the DeKalb Telephone Cooperative annual meeting.

We will roll at 10:00 am from the Woodbury Public Square. The Courthouse will be open for restrooms.

The route will follow HWY 53 north to Liberty. The entire main street there is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and makes for a pleasant view. We will follow the Smith Fork north to Mt Zion and the Corley ancestral home and Lower Helton Road. There we turn west to Alexandria and the Fairgrounds north of the Public Square.

Riders who are DTC members will vote in the election. All riders can eat. Following lunch we will find Goose Creek, Liberty Hill, Round Top, Auburntown, Hardscrabble, and head into Woodbury to end this 50 miler. This is a touring type ride with a few tough climbs.

Re: Saturday, Sept 19, 10:00 a.m. Woodbury to Alexandria Ride-Extra miles if interested

I plan to leave Lascassas Baptist Church about 8:15-8:30 to meet them by 10am in Woodbury. It is an 18 mile trip down there if anyone interested in joining me.

I found this route originally posted by Travis Hickman that Mike says should be the route for Saturday.
Looking forward to it.

Re: Saturday, Sept 19, 10:00 a.m.Annual Woodbury to Alexandria Ride aka the GooGoo Raid

We have beautiful day for a ride. It will be warm so there will be cold water at Mt. Zion Church on the Corleys, on John Corley to be precise. Look for his grave inside a limestone enclosure. There you will find ice water.
