Reminder - new rider clinic Sunday June 5 3:00

Are you a new rider with lots of questions? Or are you an experienced rider that just needs a refresher course?

Join us Sunday, June 5 at 3:00 in the parking lot across from MOAB 310 North Maple Street. (County Clerks Office Parking Lot) we will set up tents for shade, and have a cooler of bottled water.

Jeremy Chambers of MOAB will be there to show us the fine art of changing a tube and tire; the science of shifting; and answer general maintenance questions.

We will spend some time talking about those unspoken rules of riding in a group, cover the laws related to cycling and what those mean. Afterwards, we will take a short ride around town, practicing what we’ve learned.

Bring your questions (send them to me before hand if you like), your bike, a helmet, an extra tube, a pump or CO2, and tools for changing a tire. (if you need any of those – MOAB will be glad to help you out)

You do not have to be a club member to attend – so invite your friends who have always wanted to ride, but were afraid or uncomfortable. But let me know you are coming so I will have enough handouts for everyone.

Hope to see you there!

Sarah

I will be there

Re: Reminder - new rider clinic Sunday June 5 3:00

Wow!! What an exciting day! A huge thank you to Jeremy Chambers and MOAB for letting us hold the new rider clinic inside MOAB.

A very special thank you to Lynn Wilson, David Drye, Vergle Young, Bob Barkley, John Law, Randy Inskeep and Olga Weeks for coming out and helping us.

We had 14 'new riders' attend our first clinic! They learned how to change a tube/tire, how shifting gears works, braking, what to pack in your saddle bag, general rules of the road, and how to make sure your helmet fits properly.

Kellee Inskeep then took us on a ride through Murfreesboro after we talked about hand signals, taking the lane, traffic lights and stop signs.

Looking forward to the next clinic - stay tuned for details!
