I have been back riding for over a month. Please find below some things that I have learned in my first month. Please feel free to add any others. These are in no particular order.
1. Good shorts are worth what they charge.
2. The landfill really stinks.
3. Some dogs are really fast.
4. Dead skunks really stink.
5. PB and J's at the readyville rest stop are really good.
6. Having a wreck in front of the Walgreens on Thompson lane isnt so bad.
7. Hills are bigger on a bike than they are in a car.
8. It is further on a bike than it is in a car.
9. I hate little cars that have engines that sound like weedeaters.
10. I only use about 10 of my 24 gears.
11. Problems dont seem so big when you are riding and many of them are solved while riding.
12. The guys at MOAB really know what they are doing.
13. The landfill really stinks.
14. The first 5 miles of a ride are the hardest.
15. Spaghetti at Lascassas school tastes good.

17. Little rocks can cause big problems.
18. I can put my bike back together as long as I have 1 just like mine to look at.
19. A camelbak is a pretty cool thing to have.

21. Don't ride at 20+mph on a wooden greenway bridge.
22. Squirrels can be more dangerous than dogs. (They are actually plotting against us.)
23. Car vs. Bike = Car always wins.
24. Only ride with people who bring their own spare tube.
25. Chamois cream is good.
31. The land fill really stinks.
32. When you ride long enough and without sleep, farm animals will start talking to you.
33. You'll get real weird tan lines that will generate lots of questions when you go swimming.
34. You are a target for rednecks and others that do not understand why we ride our bikes.
35. You'll find the best little stores in out of the way towns to get great food and conversation.
36. If you are lucky enough to ride across the USA then you will learn why the USA and its people are the best in the world.
37. If you are lucky you will see Elvis and Marilyn while riding though Arizona.
38. Beef Jerky and Chocolate milk are good biker food.
39. Single speeds rule.
40. Riding your bike is a lifetime adventure.
Bike riding not only allows, but encourages--nay, requires!--consumption of chocolate. Which we all know is heart healthy, so you get a double dose of heart goodness, and that doesn't count the people!
42. Nashville Mayor Karl Dean is a cyclist.
43. The colorful jerseys look awesome when large groups ride by.
44. The riders are as colorful as their jerseys.
45. The land fill stinks.
