1st time for everything....

I have been riding for 25 years and have been chased by dogs a lot of time but today's mutt scored a 1st, at least on me. I was climbing in the Cain Ridge area and all of a sudden Cujo comes from the right side, I see him coming and take my water bottle and hit him square in the face with a squirt. Now usually this stops most dogs cold, but not Cujo, no he comes around from the other side and hits/bites my rear wheel with enough force to knock it out of true. It must have hurt him because he ceased the attack. I managed to ride a few more miles with the rear wheel rubbing the chain stays, finally I see an old man working on his truck in his yard and borrow a set of plyers to do a mid ride true to the rear(trueing a wheel in not nor has ever been a skill for me). I got it well enough to finish my ride. I hope Cujo lost a tooth, next time I will be prepared to sprint up that climb.

so glad he didn't knock your ankle out of true. I hope you get the address from whence he came and called the cops.

We had a pit bull attack on Rehobeth the other night and by shear luck there was a sheriff's patrol two houses back. Mark went back and reported...the owners had a nice visit from the sheriff....

ride safe!

Re: 1st time for everything....

that should get some laughs at the shop. "dog bit it".

cool that you didn't go down or get a puncture. get up here and ride with "my" juniors. i can't hold their wheels for snit. oldest won his third race. younger hasn't entered one yet, but is just as strong.

and i'm getting most of the dogs trained on my regular routes. one biter now barks and runs behind the house when i come by. the one i hit last year barks but stays near the porch.

give a shout. mtn biking wore me out today-going long and slow tomorrow with the skinnies
