Can This Years 2 Cnty Metric Become A Fund Raiser for Tornado Victims?
Idea - What about if we made this weekends ride a fund raising event for Tornado victims? I would like to offer up my time to make that happen.
I would think if we had this fund raising event we should get a bunch to show up (all of us spreading the word)and could raise a fair amount of money. It may not help other bike events going on, but maybe they could join in (Cookeville Caney Fork Cycling and Nashvilles Percy Warner Park ride)
What about reaching out to the general population (post at the YMCA'S...) and have an easy 15-30 mile ride. Do we have the ability to handle all the potential people who might show up?
We could have the entry fee X 2, the X 2 would go to Tornado Victims.
Also, I work for a large Company that may sponsor, also could get some others to pitch in money and resources.
This is not much time but I do not think it is to late. Like the Tornado it hit fast and so can we. Maybe we should have a meeting tonight to discuss and if a go assign tasks?
