This ride and cookout is being sponsored by the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association. Ride starts at 2 and then there will be a cookout at 4 after the ride.
It's a social ride and will be great for all skill levels, so if you're new to mountain biking, don't be shy. Show up, have a great time, meet some new people, and learn more about it! All are welcome and encouraged to come on out and ride!
Thanks Yvonne! It'll be good to see you too. I did two great rides this week with no problems with the feet at all. Better riding then they are with walking! Hmmm, that says a lot. Guess I need to stay on a bike. Hope you can make it Sunday.
C'mon, you can do the Jack and Back! It's AWESOME!!!!! StillChris is gonna ride with me so you should too!
Re: Re: Re: SORBA ride at Lock 4 Sunday April 5th.
Steve,
I'll think about it for sure!! I have done several Jack and Back rides and they are sensational bike trips with great support.
Will you and Still Chris be able to make it to some of Wade's mtn rides in April? Or will you be mostly road riding? If you get a chance to do the DSG pre-ride it is third weekend in April. That course puts Long Hunter to shame!! Plus, it'll give you a feel for what to expect at the event on May 9th. If you like Jack and Back you'd LOVE this festive shindig!! How about you and Still Chris commit to DSG and I'll commit to Jack and Back??!!
Glad to hear your feet are doing well and looking forward to seeing you next Sunday!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for clear, warm weather!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: SORBA ride at Lock 4 Sunday April 5th.
What IS the DSG ride Yvonne? I might commit if I knew what it was (maybe Chris too). Then we could hold you to the Jack and Back! I'm going to be doing plenty of mountain biking. Have to get ready for the Muddy Buddy adventure race in late May. Definitely pray for great weather for next weekend! Should be lots of fun.
The DSG is the Dirt, Sweat & Gears. It's a 12-hour mountain bike race held each May in Fayetteville. It's a huge event with more in "door" prizes than purse money. But the pro's and personalities come out as well. (I think I wrote about this in the newsletter)
The website is dirtsweatandgears.com and there's a whole section of nationalmountainbike.com for DSG.
Race 12 hours solo, or on a team. Good clean fun, except for the dirt mud sweat and beers.
The course in a 10.6 mile loop with 1600' or so of climbing per lap. It is private and only open on certain dates.
