Primary plan will be to ride at the Nashville Speedway track (requires HBC membership) & no bike lights are required. If the track ride is cancelled due to cold, the backup plan is to ride from Giles Baptist Church in Smyrna (7084 Rocky Fork Road) & bike lights will be required.
While the track ride is obviously flat (except for the banked oval, I guess), the Giles Baptist route is decidedly not. Yvonne has created a punishing loop with 4 big climbs, and we'll regroup at the top of each climb. Traffic is exceptionally light on the route. Including the out/back portion, one lap is around 10 miles, 2 laps is around 17 miles.
The final location for the ride will be posted by 2pm on Thursday. Hope to see some of you then.
now - steve can attest to the fact that I'm no good at math..but if one loop is 10, I would assume two loops equals 20...where'd the 17 come from? Do you plan to sag in the last 3?
That's why I said "including the out/back portion"! A 3 mile out/back +7 miles per loop equals 10 miles for 1 loop and 17 miles for two. Its the new math!
i knew it was something simple I missed. Sorry I can't be there thursday. Our new clinic is having an open house from 5:00 - 7:00 at the new 100 Oaks Office!! ya'll be safe and have fun!
Mark,
I just saw Cary's post and it is too cold for me!!
I'll be there at 6 pm unless I get caught in traffic coming back from MOAB. Gotta run an errand for AB. I should be there by 6 pm if you aren't going let me know.
Thanks,
Yvonne
Sorry for the delay in posting...I've been trying to confirm whether the the track riding is cancelled. Based on Cary's post, the track ride has been cancelled, so we're going with Plan B -- 6pm at Giles Baptist Church in Smyrna (7084 Rocky Fork Road). Hope to see some of you there.
Re: Re: Thursday Night Ride - 6pm -- LOCATION CHANGE
If I can get there on time, I'll be there but I doubt I can because I am not leaving the school until 4:30 (not planned) and then heading towards Blackman and then back up to MOAB. That's an hour and 1/2 . It may be possible!! We'll see. If I throw in the towel, I hope whoever goes has fun!!
I meant to say in the earlier post, that it isn't too cold for me!!
It doesn't look like things will work out for a ride tonight, so I'm cancelling the ride. If anyone had their heart set on going, call me at 615-278-8575 and I'll come out to join. Otherwise, I'll be on the trainer in the basement.
