My modest goal for 2007 was to stay upright while riding. I am pleased to say I accomplished this goal. I am also pleased to say my cholesterol is 148 with a LDL of 82 and a HDL of 51. I did not keep track of my miles and neglected to update my odometer when I switched batteries and later a computer. I did change my tires though if that is any indication.

My goals for 2008 are to stay upright and also to climb better.

I was thinking of mileage until I read your replies.

So to combine the accomplishments of you guys into a 2008 goal: To be flexible, balanced, upright, healthy, and make a friend or two.

Sounds hard, but maybe doable.;)

I started really riding road (MTB for 12+ yrs) in 2007, logged approximately 3,500 miles, lost 65 lbs, got off both choloestrol and high bp meds, and bought much needed new clothes. I would have to say my only motivation was climbing better than the next guy. I hated being last up even the slightest hill/incline. I'm not an official member of the club yet, but I plan to be this year so I hope I'm not upsetting anyone by posting this here. For 2008, I would like to maintain my 150lbs weight, keep eating right, and riding another 3,500 miles. Godspeed,
