Floating stop signs

You can sit at any stop sign in town & 90% of the cars will do a rolling stop. It actually improves the flow of traffic as the next car doesn't have to wait the extra time for you to stop. The only exceptions are at a busy intersections or if a police ossifer is obviously watching & likely looking for an excuse to generate a little extra revenue.

I was at East Main and Tennessee Blvd the other day when a cyclist floated the light. There was NO cross traffic anywhere near the corner so the float was safe & convenient.

Go hed an jus stop, this ain't the tour.

Re: Re: Floating stop signs

Nah, I don't float on my bike...Just fly thru if I'm sure no cars are around. The truck floats unless someone is there to catch me - but, I look both ways (for bikes AND police).

Re: Re: Re: Floating stop signs

In my old age, I have begun to unclip and stop, or at least do a brief track stand. STOP really does mean STOP, not ALMOST STOP.
