Caroline McGee-update

Caroline is awake and improving hourly. I met her husband Tom and he was very encouraged by her progress. Tom welcomes visitors as it helps keep Caroline stimulated, but he asked that you visit during the day if possible, and certainly not after 8:00 p.m.

Caroline is in a private room 5210 at Vanderbilt Hospital. If you would like to send cards, send them to:

Patient, Caroline McGee
Vanderbilt University Hospital, Room 5210
1161 21st Avenue South
Nashville, TN 37232

Re: Caroline McGee-update

Great news. I will put the card from the club in the mail immediately. Thanks, Sarah.

Re: Re: Caroline McGee-update

Any information on how it may have happened? Great news on her improvement. Thanks for taking the time to visit her and inform us.

Re: Re: Re: Caroline McGee-update

we did not really discuss it. Caroline doesn't remember and Tom wasn't sure. so for now it's a mystery and may remain so. But as a true cyclist, she did know that her bike only had a scratch or two on it.

Tom would like to encourage everyone to get a RoadID. EMS was not able to identify Caroline until one of them thought to check inside her helmet.

Be safe out there.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Caroline McGee-update

I have been wearing a Road ID for several years. I know on the motorcycle the emergency people are not supposed to remove your helmet incase there is a head injury. There are stickers to put on the outside of the helmet. They will also not go through your stuff to look for ID right there on the scene. A fiend had her information on her motorcycle and she went one way and the bike towed another and she was not identified until we started calling hospitals looking for an accident patient. Good advice-take heed.
