[Michael] well normal is a word that seems to qualify "what everyone else is doing". ... though I have yet to meet anyone who is normal - and glad that's the case lol
[Thomas] normal is the state of ordinariness that the majority of people in the world accept

[LisaFree] normal is considered what the "norm" would
be doing..
[Michael] though sometimes I think it's used more for those who are studying psychology
[Don] social mean,bell curve consciousness
[LisaFree] right... I persoanlly do not agree that there is a "normal" anything.. I think that when you fit someone else's needs or expectations, then your actions are deemed "normal" but that's just me

[LisaFree] so... with keeping that in mind..... let's start by discussing what problems a "psychic" might
have to deal with in a "normal" world

[Maila] how about not being able to openly discuss it
[Don] "knowing" thoughts feelings around them

[Thomas] well i know that now taking the psychic development series my abilties are slowly opening and increasing and sometimes i find it hard to control them around other people
[LisaFree] all good answers... so let's dig a little deeper then.... why might these things be a problem?
[Don] our culture allows you to perceive feelings nonverbally , but not thoughts

[Maila] because it's not really understood by the "norm", so some fear psychic ability
[Thomas] they fear it because they are afraid we may "get into their minds" and steal personal private thoughts and feelings
[LisaFree] right, Don... can you explain why that might be?

[Michael] actually I see a society that doesn't like seeing others get emotional
[LisaFree] right on, Thomas!!
[Don] but people do experiance thought transferance all the time, they just call it other things

Immedicately they think of Ms Cleo - or Dionne Warwick's Psychic Friends

"problem areas" with our society and psychics.... are there things "WE" as psychics can do to help the "norm" not feel so uncomfortable?

automatically thinking of an evil warty woman

[Don] it takes awhile to get used to the idea that others might be noticing our thoughts
[Thomas] educating them may be harder than it sounds...its like trying to expalin to someone why your short or tall...blond or brunette
[Maila] even harder, cause at least a tall person wont regect the fact that their tall

uncomfortable for them

complexity of being psychic
