Paul Holter died 5/24/04 in Mill Valley California USA at the age of 81.

HOLTER, Paul Charles - Beloved husband of Marion, and father of Peter Holter of Sausalito, passed away on May 24, 2004 after a brief illness. Paul was a 50-year resident of Marin County, and for the past 27 years he has lived in Mill Valley with his wife, Marion. Paul touched those who knew him and was very kind and loving to his family and his many friends. He had an extraordinary sense of humor and evoked laughter in us every day. Paul was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from White Plains, N.Y., High School. He attended The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. After World War II he graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, C.T. He later graduated from New York University Law School in New York City. Paul was privileged and proud to be a part of "The Greatest Generation". He had a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force. During World War II he was a Fighter Pilot in the Eighth Air Force, 374th Fighter Squadron, Cambridge, U.K. He flew 85 missions in Europe including D-Day. Paul remained in the Air Force Reserve and was called back for the Korean War as a Fighter Pilot. He flew 12 missions in Korea. He was later recruited from Korea to be Professor of Air Science and Tactics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. Paul received many decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross three times and the Air Medal twice. He retired as Lt. Colonel after 28 years of the combination of Active and Reserve duty. Paul's business career included a position as Account Executive, Radio Station KSFO; Western Manager, NBC Radio Network and for the past 30 years Owner, Holter Associates, Inc., Commercial and Investment Real Estate in San Francisco. A Memorial Service honoring Paul will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to your favorite charity or Marin Services for Women, Greenbrae, or Hospice of Marin, Corte Madera.
