Have just learned that Bill Beyer passed away on 15 Aug 2016. Bill was one of the most humble men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

For those not familiar, Bill Beyer was the 361st's second leading ace 9(ea) behind squadron mate Dale Spencer (10.5). Bill was also the groups only 'ace in a day'. His first victory after a prolonged dogfight was the highly decorated Major Klaus Mietusch, commander of III./Jagdgeschwader 26 'JG26.
