National Purple Heart Hall of Honor

Not too long ago I found out about the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. As stated on the Hall of Honor web site, “The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor commemorates the extraordinary sacrifices of America's servicemen and servicewomen who were killed or wounded in combat. The mission of the Hall of Honor is to collect and preserve the stories of Purple Heart recipients from all branches of service and across generations to ensure that all recipients are represented.”

On the 361st Fighter Group Roll of Honor I counted 41 names of men killed in action, all of whom should have received Purple Hearts, but I found only 9 of these enrolled in the Hall of Honor. I did take the steps to enroll my uncle, Lt. Daniel Nazzarett
(http://www.thepurpleheart.com/recipient/RecipientDetails.aspx?wid=8db201dd-ab76-4df6-b97a-0d67947c57c8).

I don’t know if lack of enrollment in the Hall of Honor is because of lack of knowledge of the Hall, but anyone interested can go to http://www.thepurpleheart.com/ for information. How to enroll is explained at http://www.thepurpleheart.com/faqs/ and at http://www.thepurpleheart.com/docs/Enrollment.pdf.
