I am a writer working on a book to be published this year about American military still buried abroad since the Rev War. Col. Christian's story is unique in that he is believed to be buried in In Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetery, in Arras, Pas de Calais, France with a tombstone marked "believed to be buried". Other accounts hold his burial place as unknown, and the memorial at the TX state cemetery says that his body was never recovered. Does anyone have more information about how this kind of limbo came to pass? I have tried without success to find his daughter Lou Ellen Wilson Loving, and if it is possible to be in touch with her without intruding on her privacy, I would appreciate some guidance.
