Re: Leonard Alton Wood, 375th fighter squadron

I was a mechanic in the 375th Squadron and knew your granddad, and we saw each other at several of our reunions. He was a good pilot and a fine man.
You can get a lot of information about his WWII flights with the 361st Fighter Group (as well as some pictures) from the 361st history book. Contact Joe Ormond at sonofp51@suddenlink.net for details.

Re: Leonard Alton Wood, 375th fighter squadron

Thank you Mr. Redden.

My email is jygcemt@yahoo.com.

I have been researching like a man possesed since I learned of his service. I was already a WWII history buff so naturally I had keen interest in my Grandfathers service when I learned of it. He himself never spoke of it, not even when he would take me to the air and space museum or when he visited us here in Pensacola and we took him to the Naval Aviation museum.

On behalf of my family I want to thank you for keeping Grampa's plane in the air, I may not have been born if it wasnt for your service.
