Gee, I can't envision Bud Selig responding to an email from a Gee, I can't envision Bud Selig replying to an email a fan about the quality of umpiring in Major League Baseball.
Also, I found this interesting note in a blog about the Wild Things:
Dan O'Connell is the league's chief umpire in the St. Louis area; Jeff Spisak, who spent three years at the Class AA level, is from Indianapolis and Tony Maners, who is from somewhere in the southeast, spent 10 years umpiring in Class AAA and has worked several College World Series.
These were the three umpires who worked the Gateway-Washington series. Sounds they have far more experience than the players, and even more experience than most umpires in Class A and AA.
