Raccoon Mountain MTB Camping Adventure. 8:00 Saturday @ Carpool

Come on out this weekend for a fun time exploring Raccoon Mountain, camping the Franklin State Forest, and riding the Sewanee Perimeter trail. The weather, for the most part, looks cooperative.

Please Read All We'll leave for Raccoon Mountain Saturday morning @ 8:00 and arrive around ten. We will spend about 5-6 hours exploring the different trails ~ 20 miles. After finding a suitable dinner, we'll leave Chattanooga and drive back to Franklin State Forest, regroup at the Forestry Cabin (6:00 P.M.) and drive to campsite. Sunday A.M. we'll eat, pack up, and head to Sewanee to bike about 14 miles of the Perimeter Trail. We should finish by 2:00 and be back in the boro by 3:00 depending on whether we stop to eat or not.

Carpool: 8:00 @ Cracker Barrel off of hwy 231 & I-24 (exit 81). If not camping Sat. night, you can park @ exit 134 on Monteagle, and carpool to Chattanooga.

Trailhead: 10:00 (cst) @ Laurel Point parking area. Forestry Cabin: 6:00 P.M. Things to Bring:

Camping items: tent, sleeping bag, pillow, chair, change of clothes, personal stuff.

Food items: Saturday afternoon trail food.
Sunday morning breakfast.

Favorite beverages

I will have bike tools, some common parts, firewood equipment, cooking stove, and extra water.
