It looks like you could go Jug Creek/Owens/Puckett/Phillips/Sherrilltown/ to save some miles.

OR even shorter would be

Jug Creek/Cainsville/Simmons Bluff.

I haven't been on Owens etc. Please report back if you go that route.

Simmons Bluff goes through unless there is new construction underway. That could be the fall back route if the others don't work.
