Thursday 5:30pm -- Patterson Baptist Moonlight Madness

Something a little different this week. While we still have some daylight, we're going to do a metric century down to Chapel Hill, have a quick dinner there, and then ride back. Experienced MBC members welcome. This wouldn't be a good first ride for inexperienced riders due to the distance and mostly nighttime riding.

Here's the plan:

-Leave PBC at 5:30pm or as soon as everyone is ready...I know 5:30pm is tough for some (including me) but we want to take advantage of the daylight
-Ride for about an hour in daylight/dusk
-Stop in Chapel Hill at mile 33 for a quick dinner at Subway
-Finish up with 30 more miles back to PBC
-Will stick together for safety
-Very low traffic roads for the dark portion of the ride
-Will need about 3 hours of burn time on the lights, so each person will have to decide what power to run their lights
-including the Subway stop, that will put us back to PBC at 9:30-9:45pm, home in bed by 10:15pm

A helmet, strong headlight, and good blinkie tail light are required. (Reminder to check or charge your batteries!) Reflective clothing and a cell phone are highly recommended. This is not an official club ride.

Anyone who doesn't want to go this long can join us on the way out, then turn around to complete an out/back distance of your choice. Print your own cue sheets, but we will stay together and follow the GPS cues.
